privacy.
we keep this short because we collect very little.
what we store
creating account is optional. if you create one (with apple or google), we store your email, nothing else. no name, no phone. we use it only to recognize your account so your data follows you when you switch phones or reinstall expen.
without an account, we don't know who you are. your data lives on your device.
analytics
we collect anonymous usage stats like daily active users, so we know what to improve. these aren't tied to you personally.
who else touches your data
- apple & google - handle accounts and subscription payments. we never see your password or card.
- revenuecat - manages subscriptions across platforms. they receive a subscription identifier, not your personal info.
- userorient - powers in-app feedback. anything you write there, you write knowing we'll read it.
voice input & ai
when you add a transaction by voice, we send the audio and its text to ai models from anthropic and inception labs. they turn it into a transaction, don't keep it, and don't train on it.
we ask before the first time. if you decline, nothing is sent. the rest of expen still works.
deleting your data
inside the app, open the three-dots menu and tap "delete account". everything we hold goes with it.
changes
we may update this policy. the latest version always lives at expen.app/privacy. continuing to use expen means you accept the latest version.
